Restaurant Review - Meltons App & Tap - Decatur GA

One of my favorite places to go, and not just because it's 2 minutes from my house, is Meltons App & Tap, located in Decatur GA.

Their address is 2500 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, GA 30033 and they have weekly specials for food. They also have daily specials on drinks, and offer high gravity beers. The only thing this places is missing is alcohol, but the food is so good, if you are a beer drinker you won't even notice you can't order a margarita or shot.

My favorites foods to eat there are: ceese bicuits, turkey club, burger, chef salsd (the best!), and nachos. On St Patricks's day they have a cannot-be-missed corned beef.

The staff is great, the owner is great, and it has a very "Cheer's" feeling to it, where everyone knows your name.

I highly recommend Meltonsto anyone in the Decatur area!

Recipe - Jello Shots

Making Jello shots is pretty much like making regular Jello, except with some alcohol added instead of cold water. There are a few things to be mindful of or else the gelatin won't set!

Here is a great recipe To make approximately 40 1oz. shots or 20 2oz. jello shots:

Ingredients:
16 ounces (2 cups) boiling water
6 oz. package of gelatin
6 ounces cold water (3/4 cup)
12 ounces chilled alcohol (1 1/2 cup) (vokda is my favorite, rum is second)
Depending on the proof of alcohol you use, adjust the proportions of alcohol to cold water to ensure that the shot still sets. Use the following ratios:
13 ounces of 30-50 (~20%) proof alcohol to 3 ounces cold water
10 ounces 80-100 (~45%) proof alcohol to 6 ounces cold water
6 ounces 150-200 proof alcohol to 10 ounces cold water
chill alcohol at least one hour prior (not in the freezer, unless the alcohol is over 80-proof; anything else might freeze and break the bottle)

Steps:
Bring water to a rolling boil, then remove from heat.
Stir together boiling water and powdered gelatin in a mixing bowl. Stir constantly until gelatin is completely dissolved.
Stir in cold water and alcohol.
Spray the inside of the cups with cooking spray, so the Jello easily slides out of the cups during use. Adding spoons, if you have enough of them, can help, too. Popsicle sticks can serve as a cheaper alternative.
Pour mixture into shot glasses, individual shot-size (1oz-2oz) plastic cups, or cups manufactured specifically for this purpose. (EZ-Squeeze Jello Shot Cups recommended)

Although shot glasses look prettier and allow you to see the vibrant colors of the Jello, paper cups allow for easier Jello shot consumption as they can be turned inside out.

To make the Jello easier to consume, buy plastic cups that also have lids. Pour the mix into the cup, add the lid, then turn it upside down prior to refrigeration.

Place shots on a tray in refrigerator (not the freezer). Chill until firm (approximately 2-4 hours). Refrigerate until served.

CVS Shower Tabs Product Review

These are the best thing to buy if you have a stuffed up nose. You put them in the bottom of your tub while you shower and they make you able tobreathe again! I turn the fan on, and blobk the crack under the door and my bathroom is turned into a steamy sauna and the air actually clears my clogged nasal packages. Vapor rub and other products have these same tablets for like 10 dollars, but the CVS brand is much cheaper and just as effective.

Hanging Bird Feeder Product Review

One of my favorite things is to watch back yard birds fill up our bird feeders. One of the best to use is this hanging bird feeder, which sells at Ace Hardware and Pikes for over $10, but is also at the Family Dollar for $3 only.

The best trick to use this feeder is to throw a long rope over a high tre branch, and suspend the feeder 15 feet or more in the air. This makes it completley squirrel-proof.

Birds love it, and will take turns waiting on the tree to sit and eat - it's almost never empty. We have seen finches, sparrows, robins, cardinals, and my personal favorite, lots of woodpeckers on the feeder. On a cold day, you can expect the feeder to be totally emptied by the next morning!

I would definelty recommend this kind of bird feeder to any avid bird watcher!

AT&T Tilt Cellphone Product Review

I have owned the AT&T cellphone for a little over 2 years now, and I still have the original phone, which is a testament to it being very- well made.

The AT&T Tilt features a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard and a tilting screen. The Windows Mobile 6 smartphone also offers the full gamut of wireless options, including 3G and GPS, push e-mail, a 3-megapixel camera, and support for AT&TMusic and Video.

Mine runs Windows Mobile 6. It takes very high qualilty pictures that are easy to either email off the phone, or transfer manually (once you have Windows Active Synch software installed.) The internet browsing is very quick, the only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have the I-phone like shrinking and zooming effect for webpages.

All in all, it's a truely great phone. When my digital camera battery dies , my phone can works as a great stand-in, taking very, very good pictures.

I've never had any problems with it, never had to go into the store with it, and would highly recommend this phone to anyone.
The only downside I see to recommending it, is that it is a little on the pricey side - 2 years ago it was about $500 I think, and now it runs for about $300 refurbished I beleive.
